Military and Law Enforcement Demonstrations

Recent Demonstrations

Verdi Armory recently conducted a Demonstration for the United States Marine Corps Recruiting Offices in Reno and Carson City. Click on the Shield to the right to see a short video clip!

This demonstration consisted of three seperate stages:

1. Live Fire Demonstration - Each poole (recruit that has signed up with the Corps) and potential recruit was able to fire 10 different weapons, ranging from a DMR (Designated Marksman Rifle) to a M60 beltfed machine gun. There were also live fire weapons that were demonstrated only, including an M249 saw, and a M134 Minigun.

2. Static Display - Static (non firing display) of various weapons that the Marines may encounter overseas (both US and foreign weapons). This include weapons ranging from AK-47s to Barrett M82s (.50 BMG). Approximately 30 weapons in all.

3. MCMAP demonstration - A Marine Corps Martial Arts Program demonstration was conducted by on of the Gunnery Sergeants (a black belt instructor) as one of the stages in an area provided by Verdi Armory.

There were 50 pooles, 20 potential recruits, and 12 active duty Marines that cycled through all three stages.

Event Preparation and Coordination

Verdi Armory provided planning and coordination of this demonstration from the concept to the execution and followup post event. This included recruiting sponsors to help defray the cost of ammunition for the event. Desigining a brochure for distribution to attendees and developing sponsors ads for insertion into the program. Coordination with Range and City officials where the event was to take place. Interface with local Law Enforcement detailing the events scope of activities. Providing Range Safety Officers, Range Master, and other neccessary staffing. Scheduling and coordinating the event. Procuring the weapons and ammunition for the event.

Since this was an in state event, the need for coordination with outside state agencies and federal authorities was not required. In the case of an event not taking place in NV, co-ordination with these other agencies would be taken care of by Verdi Armory.
